Mars Anomalies
Updated Dec. 18,2001

My thoughts on the so called Mars anomalies (basically, artifacts which appear to be the products of a technological civilization) is that the evidence is still quite weak. I am inclined to think that if there does indeed turn out to be remnants of a technological civilization on Mars, that it is most likely that this civilization will turn out to be a colony of a long lost advanced ancient human civilization based on Earth. After all, we know that humans exist and that they are capable of creating a spacefaring civilization. At this very moment there are artificial artifacts on Mars which we have recently created (that is, all the Mars probes). It takes less faith to believe that humans created an advanced civilization on Earth in the distant past for which most traces have disappeared than it does to believe that advanced creatures evolved on Mars and created that civilization indiginously or that advanced creatures evolved on a distant planet and traveled vast distances to this solar system and established a large colony on Mars. However, I think that the likelihood of finding any genuine remnants of an advanced civilization on Mars are almost zero.

On the other hand, there seems to be stronger evidence suggesting that NASA may be tempering with the photographic data being recieved from the various Mars probes. I personally have not come to a conclussion regarding a possible motivation behind such tampering. It is possible that they are trying to hide data that others could interpret as anomalies even if the experts at NASA are not themselves convinced that they are true anomalies. I invite you to browse the sites listed below for yourself and come to your own conclussions.
